Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using SafeHousings, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into contracts under Nigerian law to use SafeHousings. By using our platform, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Escrow Services
SafeHousings provides escrow services as a neutral third party. Funds deposited into escrow are held by SafeHousings and disbursed only upon confirmation of the agreed trigger event (e.g., confirmed move-in). SafeHousings charges no escrow fee to renters.
4. Landlord Obligations
Landlords listing properties on SafeHousings agree to provide accurate information, maintain valid ownership documentation, comply with all applicable Nigerian tenancy laws, and complete the SafeHousings verification process.
5. Renter Obligations
Renters agree to use properties solely for lawful residential purposes, maintain properties in good condition, and pay all agreed rents on time through the SafeHousings escrow system.
6. Prohibited Activities
Users may not: post fraudulent listings, misrepresent ownership, bypass the escrow system to make direct payments, use the platform for illegal activities, or harass or harm other users.
7. Dispute Resolution
SafeHousings provides a dispute resolution service for escrow-backed transactions. Disputes must be raised within 7 days of the trigger event. SafeHousings' decision on escrow disputes is final and binding.
8. Limitation of Liability
SafeHousings is not liable for property conditions beyond those covered by our Architectural Integrity audit, disputes between parties arising from misrepresentation outside of listed information, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
